Christmas Jumper Day - Save the Children

Friday 10th Dec 2021

Christmas Dinner - whole school - Please pre book the themed lunch on Parentmail - meal booking form will be sent out nearer the date

Christmas Jumper Day - On Friday 10 December, Carr Lodge Academy will be taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. Children can come to school wearing their Christmas jumpers and we’re asking families to donate £1 to support children in the UK and around the world. By taking part we’ll be helping children who don’t have the basics they need to survive – like food, school or medicine – to start seeing the magic in the world again.

Throughout the day, CLA will be taking part in some additional fundraising activities to support the Save the Children’s charity.

To begin with, all children will be taking part in a Sponsored Skipping Challenge. Our whole school target is to skip for the WHOLE SCHOOL DAY 9:00am – 3:00pm without stopping! Each class will have an individual target to reach to contribute to the whole school target and even some of our teachers will take over the skipping duties during lunch time! As a way of raising more money for such a fantastic charity, we’re asking families to sponsor their children if they can. We ask any donations to be brought into school in cash and handed to the class teacher.

Finally, between each key stage there will be a competition to guess how many sweets are in the jar. The closest guess will win the jar of sweets! Each guess will be 50p and all donations will go directly to Save the Children fundraising fund. If your child would like to have a guess, they will need to bring 50p to school with them and hand this to their class teacher.

We’d really appreciate your support to make Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day a success.

Together, we can make the world better with a sweater.
